Join us in celebrating 300 years since Thomas Barton (1695-1780), one of the most famous Wine Geese, emigrated from Fermanagh to Bordeaux in France.

Thomas Barton, known as “French Tom”, was originally from Curraghmore near Kesh in County Fermanagh. In 1725, he left Ireland and settled in Bordeaux where he established a thriving wine business still in operation today. The exhibition highlights the legacy of Thomas Barton and the other Wine Geese, an extraordinary group of Irish emigrants who made history and changed the winemaking industry.

The exhibition is part of The Wine Geese Festival (2025), providing a variety of events to suit as many tastes as possible.
